Electric Utility Switch Repair
Repair and rebuild of high-voltage disconnect and air-break switches, in the field or in our shop. Gang-operated (GOAB), vertical and side-break disconnects, and pantograph and vertical-reach switches: worn or burned contacts, seized bearings and linkages, bent blades, and storm-damaged assemblies. When a switch part is discontinued or the OEM no longer supports it, we machine the part and put the switch back in service. Switch work is the first word in our name and has been core to the shop since 1982.
Real switch jobs, documented: a Con Edison switch rebuild at the Arthur Ashe Stadium site, a Duke Energy 500 kV pantograph switch rebuild, and a Southern States EV2 linkage arm rebuilt and upgraded. Read the case studies →
Switches we
repair and rebuild.
Gang-operated and manually operated disconnects: contact and blade replacement, bearing and linkage rebuild, gear-operator adjustment, alignment and force testing.
Worn or burned switch contacts machined to OEM spec and silver-plated; bent, pitted, or overheated blades replaced.
Seized bearings and worn linkages rebuilt. On the Southern States EV2 we upgrade to stainless shafts, Viton O-rings, and sealed bearings to stop the galvanic seizure at the root.
Manual and motor operators serviced, adjusted, and force-tested. Obsolete operator parts fabricated in-house when the OEM no longer supplies them.
Emergency repair of switches damaged by storm, fault, or impact. Field triage to keep you in service, shop rebuild when it needs one, 24/7 response.
Vertical-reach and pantograph switches through 500 kV torn down, reconditioned, tested, and returned to operating specification.
In the field,
or in the shop.
Minor repairs, adjustments, and blade or contact swaps we make on-site to keep the switch in service. Full rebuilds come to the shop, where the same machinists who make switch contacts and hardware tear the switch down, recondition it to OEM operating specification, test it, and document the work.
We make the part
we install.
A parts house cannot rebuild the switch. A field crew cannot machine the discontinued blade, bearing, or contact. We do both. When a switch part is obsolete, we reverse-engineer it from a sample or a drawing, machine it to spec, and put the switch back in your substation. One source, one point of accountability.

The parts behind every switch repair, contacts, blades, bearings, and hardware machined to OEM spec.
On-site switch work across Florida and the Southeast, plus 24/7 emergency response.
Southern States EV and EV2 gang-operated switches rebuilt with upgraded bearing materials.
Switch part no one still makes? We reverse-engineer it from a sample, a print, or a model number.
