Overview

Transfer Switch Stationary Contact Assembly for the Westinghouse UTT load tap changer. 6 per kit. Machined to OEM spec. The UTT assembly uses the 2-hole mounting bracket, which is how it is distinguished from the UTTA assembly.

About the Westinghouse UTT and UTTA

The Westinghouse UTT and UTTA are transfer-switch type load tap changers found in a large number of utility distribution and power transformers built from the 1960s through the 1980s. The transfer switch makes and breaks load current through the sliding finger contact assembly while the selector and reversing switches position the next tap. The sliding finger contact assembly, collector ring, and transfer switch stationary contacts are the high-wear components. The silver contact surface erodes with each switching operation, and contact resistance rises when the plating wears through to the copper base. The UTTA is a variant of the UTT, differing only in the transfer switch stationary contact assembly mounting bracket, 2-hole on the UTT and 4-hole on the UTTA; both are fully supported with contacts, kits, and hardware.

Why replace worn LTC contacts

Worn or burned tap-changer contacts raise resistance, run hot, and can lead to tap-changer failure. Precision replacements restore reliable switching and extend the service life of the LTC.

Stock, lead time & reverse engineering
