Overview
Pulling or driving a through-bolt on switch hardware in the field usually means fighting a seized fastener with a hammer and a prayer, or pulling adjacent brackets just to get a straight swing. This slide hammer solves that: a forged D-handle at the top, a free-sliding weight that rides the shaft, and a forked head machined to engage the bolt head or nut directly. Slide the weight up and let it fall against the stop, and the impact drives straight down the bolt axis, no swinging clearance required, no disassembly of surrounding hardware.
Built to your bolt, not our catalog
We currently build this to a standard size for one utility customer. There is no stock part number because there is no stock size, the shaft length, handle reach, and head profile are machined to the bolt diameter and working clearance you give us. Send a bolt diameter, a working length, and a photo of the access you are working in, and we will confirm feasibility and machine it to fit.
Stock, lead time & custom fabrication
This tool is a representative example of what our machine shop builds on request, not a catalog item. Based in Palm Harbor, FL, Southern Switch & Contacts manufactures and ships custom line tools and replacement parts to utilities nationwide, and has served the industry since 1982.
Send the bolt size, reach, and access constraints, we’ll confirm feasibility and quote within one business day.
