About the GE ML-32 Load Tap Changer

The General Electric ML-32 is a load tap changer used in GE power transformers. Its selector switch main stationary contact, cut-out version, and reversing switch moving contact assembly are the scheduled maintenance items at the manufacturer's recommended overhaul interval. Southern Switch machines replacement contacts for the ML-32 to OEM dimensional specifications.

Why replace worn LTC contacts

Worn or burned tap-changer contacts raise resistance, run hot, and can lead to tap-changer failure. Precision replacements restore reliable switching and extend the service life of the LTC.

Stock, lead time & reverse engineering

Lead time is confirmed at quote; discontinued or hard-to-find parts are reverse-engineered from a sample, a drawing, or a model number. Based in Palm Harbor, FL, Southern Switch & Contacts manufactures and ships replacement parts to utilities nationwide, and has served the industry since 1982.

Rebuild instead of replace

Worn but not scrap? Send us your used contacts. We recondition them to OEM dimension, or machine a new set from your sample, and return them tested and documented. Often cheaper and faster than buying new.
