About the GE FKD Oil Circuit Breaker
The General Electric FKD is a heavier-duty oil circuit breaker variant with a longer contact rod, revised baffle stack assembly, bushing adapter, and yoke assembly with contact fingers. Like the FK, it interrupts fault current in oil using a finger-cluster design. The contact rod, baffle stack, arcing block, and fingers are the scheduled replacement items at overhaul, and Southern Switch machines FKD components to OEM dimensional specifications.
