About the Siemens TLJ Load Tap Changer

The Siemens TLJ is a reactor-type load tap changer with design heritage from the Allis-Chalmers TL series, produced after the Siemens acquisition of Allis-Chalmers electrical manufacturing. Its hub, reversing stationary contact, neutral stationary contact, and reversing moving contact are the components that require periodic refurbishment or replacement at the manufacturer's recommended maintenance interval. Southern Switch refurbishes TLJ hubs and machines new contacts to OEM dimensional specifications.
