About the GE FK Oil Circuit Breaker
The General Electric FK is an oil circuit breaker used in distribution and subtransmission substations for fault interruption and load switching. It uses a finger-cluster contact design with arcing blocks to confine and extinguish the arc in oil. The 6-finger arcing finger cluster is the primary interrupter contact assembly, and finger wear and arcing block erosion are the failure modes that require scheduled replacement.
Why replace worn OCB contacts
Pitted or eroded oil-circuit-breaker contacts increase resistance and weaken interruption. Precision replacements restore dependable making and breaking under load.
